10 Things To Do When You're Having A Crap Day
We all have them. Those days where nothing goes your way, everyone and everything frustrates you and you just want to cry. Here are my little methods for cheering yourself up. Some days all you need is one, other days probably them all!
1. Read a magazine
There's something really soothing about turning the pages of a magazine. You don't even need to concentrate... just flipping the pages, taking in the colours and gathering inspiration and ideas is really relaxing.
2. Paint your nails
Choose a colour that lifts your spirits and take your time. Once painted, place your nails in a bowl of cool water so the polish sets quickly. I'm loving the fun spring shades in the Rimmel 60 Seconds Super Shine range.
3. Bake cookies
What's even better than baking is sharing what you've made! Housemates will love you for it, the people at your work as well. Make up a batch of easy choc chip cookies and pass them around.
4. Make a cup of tea / hot chocolate / coffee
A warm drink is always a peaceful way to wind down. I love a chamomile tea when I'm stressed out, or a hot chocolate before bed to make me sleepy. Be sure to add a couple of marshmallows to make it extra yum.
5. Binge watch a TV series
Really get stuck into a show. I recommend Laguna Beach, The Hills, The City, The Rachel Zoe Project, Kell On Earth, House Of DVF, One Tree Hill, Real Housewives of Melbourne, Skins, Dance Moms, Pretty Little Liars and Gossip Girl.
6. Have a bath
Light a few candles, get some music on and throw in a bath bomb. I love the Metling Marshmallow Moment by Lush.
7. Apply a face mask
In particular a mud mask. My absolute favourite at the moment is the Skinfood Mud Masque. This product cleanses deep down into your pores, relaxes your entire face and leaves your skin feeling super fresh. I hate travelling (so does my skin) so after a long trip I crave resting with this mask on.
8. Eat something sweet
If chocolate doesn't make you happy I don't know what will. Go down to the nearest corner shop and buy your favourite block.
9. Go for a walk
Exercise even in the simplest form is a great way to cheer up. Go for a walk around the block (or down to the shops to grab that block of chocolate)... you never know what funny things you'll see along the way.
10. Watch the sun set
This works every time for me. Watching the sun go down is just a little reminder that the crap day you've had is coming to an end and you have a fresh start in the morning.

There's nothing better than a warm bath with a Lush bath bomb thrown in! Unless it's chocolate. Love these suggestions :)
