Sophisticated Eclectism

Over the last few months I've noticed interior trends taking a twist from the typical scaled-down scandi vibe to a much more energetic, colourful approach. I saw someone on Pinterest call it "sophisticated eclectism", and felt that title was quite fitting.
It's a clash of styles. Taking pastels, light wood and the direction of Scandinavian design, mixing it with Art Deco shapes, classic features, bold patterns and ethnic prints all rolled into one room. With so much going on your eyes don't know where to look, yet that's the point. It's interesting, quirky and in my opinion, wonderful.
